This has major ramifications for business owners. Alongside the rapid emergence of the mobile web has come an increasing need for mobile websites and compatibility. More and more smartphone users are using their phones to make purchases, as over half of all mobile searches lead to a purchase.

Even Google has begun to take notice. On January 19th, Google sent notifications out to webmasters from across the country to warn them of the mobile capability errors on their website. The suddenness of the notification is just another chapter in the conversation that Google will likely once again be rolling out yet another update to its ranking algorithms, centered around your site’s mobile compatibility.

WSI Implements Local SEO for SYNERGY HomeCare in Denver Area

You have probably seen the predictions for astounding growth of our senior population in the next few years – it will double to 70 million by 2025. This huge shift in the age of our population presents both challenges and opportunities. This is where SYNERGY HomeCare comes in. Leading HVAC Service Company Engages WSI for SEO Implementation

Comfort Control is one of the Austin area's leading HVAC and Electrical Contractor companies.  Based in Dripping Springs, Texas, they serve both residential and commercial customers with high quality HVAC repair and electrical services.

As a means of increasing their new lead flow, Comfort Control engaged WSI to optimize their web site for 5 primary keywords.  The first step in this project was on-page optimization involving the creation of 4 new SEO landing pages. 

The 4 pages were implemented on the site by the end of February, and in March we moved into the off-page optimization phase.  This phase involves the creation of unique original content about the types of services that they provide such as air conditioning installation, heating system repair, residential and commercial electrical wiring.  This content will then be posted on company specific blogs on WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, and the company’s Google+ page.  These blogs will help build page authority for the new SEO pages by linking to them.

At the conclusion of the off-page part of the program, we expect Comfort Control will have a steady flow of new leads from searchers looking for a top-notch HVAC service company.

Wow, thanks Dan! That was insightful, relevant and just so interesting. Especially for the nerd in all of us who has always wanted to live in the world of the movie Minority Report (minus the whole precog arrest warrant for something you haven't yet done but might do in the future thing - that's scary). If you don't know what I'm talking about, listen to the podcast. It's a great listen, and anyways, this is where the cool kids discuss and summarize the podcast. Here are some of the questions we asked Dan and a brief outline of his answers:

What would you recommend to a business that is overwhelmed and at a loss about where to focus their marketing efforts?

Talk about a tough one to start things off! Or so we thought, but this was no problem for Dan. As much as things have evolved, the goals of any digital marketing strategy are still the same. It's all about developing a solid Internet presence, driving traffic to your site, and converting customers into users or clients. There are many tactics we can use to accomplish these things, like SEO, PPC, email and mobile marketing. At the end of the day, businesses should ultimately focus on growing their brand with the most effective and efficient strategy they can build.

What's your stance on some of the common digital marketing myths like "SEO is a waste of time!"?

Ah, the old "SEO is dead!" discussion. WSI has been talking about the SEO issue for a while now, and though traditional SEO techniques are losing their luster, AdaptiveSEO™ is alive and well. Speaking about 2015, you've probably heard that mobile is the next big thing, which is true. There are also some interesting things going on at Facebook, so keep a watchful eye on what they're doing, especially as it relates to your business and industry.

In taking the longer view with regard to the development of the Internet of Things, or IoT, Dan brings up Minority Report and has some interesting thoughts (including one that we are living in that world right now). This is a great way to simplify the reality of where the world is going and help prepare for it. That thing you have in your pocket that you call a smartphone? Well, it's not a phone - it's a digital tracking device with phone functionality. Think about it, the vast majority of your actions on a "smartphone" have nothing to do with making a call. And what do you think Google, Facebook and all those other apps are doing with your data? Being aware of the digital horizon - even if it's way off in the distance - is one of the best things a business can do for its future.
